This superb Rioja comes from the 17.5-hectare vineyard "Valdepoleo," which was laid out in 1973 at an altitude of 630 m in the municipality of Laguardia. Therefore, the almost 50-year-old vines in this first-class individual location have long vegetation and produce grapes of exceptional quality. The result is simply terrific: A new star in the Rioja sky!

The color is cherry red with a garnet red rim and youthful reflections. Very profound on the nose and with complex subtlety. The basis is formed by fruit aromas paired with spices, fine wood, and toasted notes. A touch of minerality and balsamic notes round off the olfactory picture. The Valdepoleo presents itself as structured, very elegant, and with pleasant acidity in the mouth. The ripe tannins are well interwoven and polished. The wine is powerful and delicate at the same time and elegant. Fruit notes, wood, and tannins are very well coordinated and complement each other to create a whole. The herbs harmonious, complex, and spices can also be found in the mouth and make the wine appear multi-layered and rich in nuances. Its maturity potential is enormous. An extremely noble Rioja in a class of its own!
